Local couple Danny, 23, and Jessica, 21, are celebrating their new home having recently moved into a two-bedroom apartment at Crest Nicholson’s Elysian Gardens development in Balsall Common. The move has been possible thanks to the government-backed Help to Buy scheme and a contribution from Crest Nicholson.

As first-time buyers, the young couple were sceptical that they would be able to afford to buy at all. However, a contribution of £7,000 from Crest Nicholson towards the £227,950 asking price meant they were able to secure their dream property with just a 5% deposit.

Having grown frustrated at the lack of freedom that renting offered them, Danny and Jessica were won over by the location and facilities of their new home. The two parking spaces are ideal for the couple, as Jessica drives to see her patients in her role as a carer, and Danny travels to Solihull on his motorbike to get to his job at John Lewis.

The development stood out to Danny and Jessica for its peaceful setting. “The fact that we’re able to travel to our jobs so easily is a big advantage, and when you combine this with the open rural spaces that are nearby, we get the best of both worlds,” explains Jessica.

“We had looked at a few properties before, but when we saw this one, we knew it was going to be the one. It’s the small details that make all the difference – things like having a separate bath and shower.”

Danny and Jessica have always lived in the West Midlands, and enjoy being close to Kenilworth, Warwick and Solihull as there’s a range of places to go out to eat and drink.

“The team at Crest Nicholson have been very helpful with the process”, concludes Jessica.  “It’s not just about the financial help, they’ve also gone above and beyond to answer all our questions and been available whenever we needed them.”

The Elysian Gardens development has recently sold out, but there are a number of other developments in the area that will be available soon in Coleshill and Solihull.
