Crest Nicholson supports onsite construction workforce with welfare sessions at Monksmoor Park, Daventry

On Tuesday 15th January, Crest Nicholson’s Chiltern division hosted the first of several construction worker welfare sessions, as part of its new initiative within the Considerate Constructor’s Scheme (CCS), at its Monksmoor Park development in Daventry. The scheme marks the start of a new partnership with Harmony Holistic Therapy, who are helping to improve the general wellbeing of Crest Nicholson’s onsite construction teams across the region.

Harmony Holistic Therapy are a group of highly-skilled practitioners based in Daventry, who specialise in offering strategies and coping mechanisms to handle the stresses and strains of everyday life. They offer dedicated support, bespoke treatments and different approaches to improving overall mental, physical and social wellbeing.

To kick start the partnership, Harmony Holistic Therapy led a day of interactive sessions, discussing work-based stress, common construction injuries and the alternative therapies available. The aim was to enhance the knowledge and understanding for both Crest Nicholson employees and its sub-contractors.

The experience day offered construction workers the opportunity to ask questions and receive expert advice on workplace wellbeing, while also connecting them to local services within the Daventry community. These sessions will now form part of Crest Nicholson’s lasting commitment to its onsite workforce, with more visits planned for nearby developments in 2019.

Adam Shortland, Academy Trainee Manager at Crest Nicholson Chiltern, said: “We’re pleased to have successfully launched the first of our welfare sessions at our popular Monksmoor Park development. With the help of the team at Harmony Holistic Therapy, we hope that the day provided suitable support and advice for our hard-working on-site teams, as well as driving awareness of local welfare services.

“At Crest Nicholson, we are always looking for new ways to support our employees. This new partnership is an important step in encouraging wellbeing in the workplace while simultaneously forging stronger relationships with the local community. We look forward to working more closely with our wellness experts moving forward and welcome future informative sessions across the region.”

Jessica Rodrigues, Business Owner of Harmony Holistic Therapy, commented: “We are proud and excited about our partnership with Crest Nicholson, who as a company champion staff welfare as one of their core values. Over the coming months we will be accompanying the Chiltern division, supporting staff on-site with reducing work-related stress and injury. At Harmony Holistic Therapy, we aim to open up the dialogue around the emotional and physical demands of the working world and provide tailored solutions, which put wellbeing at the forefront of workplace culture.”

Crest Nicholson’s Monksmoor Park development is located within the heart of the Daventry community, which once complete, will feature 1,000 homes, Monksmoor Park CE Primary School, a local community centre, retail units and offices, as well as public open spaces and an extension to the Daventry Country Park and reservoir.
