Commuter links continue to be key for 96 percent of UK homebuyers

Living Room at Dylon Works

Research from Crest Nicholson Regeneration has revealed that 96% of UK homebuyers are prioritising good transport links when hunting for their next home. Brits are favouring commutability as one of the most important factors when deciding where to live, over good local schools, strong history or heritage and a strong sense of community.

With more people looking to move out of London to access better property prices, commutability is high on the list of new home buyers. Crest Nicholson Regeneration is already seeing an influx of purchasers looking for homes in top commuter hotspots that offer convenient access in and around London.

Marcus Evans, Sales and Marketing Director at Crest Nicholson Regeneration, said: “We’re seeing an increasing trend of homebuyers looking to remain a close distance to the capital, without having to compromise on excellent transport links or amenities. The South East is the ideal position for city workers looking for affordability outside of central London and a quick commute to work.

“At Crest Nicholson Regeneration, we currently have a range of beautiful homes in Sydenham, Redhill and Crawley suited to first-time buyers, professionals and second steppers seeking a well-connected commuter-belt location.”

Dylon Works, Lower Sydenham, SE26

For buyers that prefer the city over the countryside, Dylon Works offers a contemporary range of two and three bedroom apartments, within a 14 minute commute to London Bridge. Homes are currently available from £485,000 and Help-to-Buy London: Equity Loan is available on eligible properties.
