path to your new home

At Crest Nicholson, we make the process of buying a new build home clear and straightforward.

Our dedicated Sales Executives will guide you through each stage and are always available to answer any questions you have. To help you prepare, we have outlined the full path to your new home, so you know exactly what to expect when buying with Crest Nicholson.

  1. Reserve your new home

Once you have chosen your new Crest Nicholson home, we will help you complete your reservation paperwork. At this point, you will pay a reservation fee to secure your home and begin your journey to ownership.

  1. Choose your financial advisor and solicitors

Before you can move forward in buying your new home, you will need to secure a mortgage offer. If you would like support, we can recommend trusted independent advisors who can guide you through the legal and new build mortgage process of buying a new build home.

  1. Personalise and upgrade your home

Depending on the stage of construction, you may have the option to personalise your new home with design choices and premium upgrades. Your Sales Executive will talk you through our Arteva choices and upgrades and help you create a home that reflects your style.

  1. Exchange of contracts to secure your home

Once your purchase details are confirmed and your mortgage offer is in place, you can sign the draft contract and provide your legal advisor with the exchange deposit. They will then proceed with the formal exchange of contracts, securing your new home.

  1. Meet the builder on-site

If your home is still under construction, once it is watertight, we will invite you to a Meet the Builder appointment. This visit allows you to see the build quality for yourself and understand more about the construction process behind your Crest Nicholson home.

  1. Receive your Notice of Practical Completion

When your home is complete, our solicitors will issue a Notice of Practical Completion. This provides you and your solicitor with a minimum of fourteen days for you and your solicitor to legally complete.

  1. Attend your home demonstration visit

As your new home is being finalised, we will arrange a Home Demonstration Visit. Our site team will show you how the key features, fittings and appliances work, ensuring you feel fully prepared when you move in.

  1. Complete and collect your keys

Once your solicitor has transferred the balance of funds, legal completion will be confirmed. Our team will then be in touch to congratulate you and arrange for you to collect the keys to your brand-new home

  1. Settle in and welcome visit

After you have moved in, a member of our customer service team will visit to discuss any issues you may have noticed. This final step is designed to make sure that you are completely satisfied with your new Crest Nicholson home. This member of the team will be your dedicated contact across your two year Crest Nicholson warranty.
