The daily commute is easy, as is getting to the West End and back for an evening out. Mitcham Eastfields station is within walking distance from Rowan Park with direct services to Victoria and Blackfriars. Alternatively a bus service travels from Rowan Park to Norbury station, for trains to Victoria and London Bridge in under half an hour
Mitcham Junction station also offers some useful connections. As part of the Thameslink network it has services to Wimbledon, Blackfriars and Kings Cross, and much further north into Hertfordshire.
Mitcham blossomed as a residential area when tram services arrived in the 1930s. Now the tram is back, providing an alternative way to travel between Wimbledon and Croydon and out into Surrey. Mitcham Junction is a key station on the tram link with short journey times of 17 minutes to East Croydon and 11 minutes to Wimbledon. Both destinations are places of work as well as being well supplied with good shops, restaurants, cinema and theatre; making the tram link a very useful one.
If you're driving, the A23, about a mile from Rowan Park, is a major route into and out of London. Going south, it will take you to junction 7 of the M25, which is the interchange with the M23. This means both Heathrow and Gatwick Airports are within easy range for business travel or when holidays beckon. Stay on the M23 for cosmopolitan Brighton and the rest of the south coast: the perfect summer day out.
