Crest Nicholson donates £5,000 to Needham Market Football Academy

Crest Nicholson has donated £5,000 to Needham Market Football Academy on Quinton Road to contribute to the cost of academy coaches and a new physiotherapist.

Crest Nicholson has a long-standing relationship with the Academy, renowned for its unique development programme which offers ambitious and talented footballers the opportunity to complete a work-based programme of study, alongside a programme of coaching and match participation.

Aimed at 16-19 year olds, the Academy also offers both NQV and BTEC programmes to individuals who wish to continue their further football development in pursuit of a full or part time career in the game. In addition, the Academy helps individuals explore alternative career paths, offering apprenticeships in industries such as construction for those who don’t wish to pursue football professionally.

Graham Emmerson, Chief Executive at Needham Market Football Academy, said:

“We’re delighted with Crest Nicholson’s generous donation to the club, which will greatly benefit the football provision that we can provide for our players. Since opening our doors in 2011, the Academy has gone from strength to strength, with notable examples of players entering the professional arena. We hope the extra funding will equip us with the tools we need to nurture future talent both on and off the pitch. ”

Peter Diffley, Managing Director at Crest Nicholson’s Eastern division, said:

“We’re thrilled to be supporting such a thriving sporting academy within our local area. As responsible housebuilders, we recognise the importance of supporting the communities where we build and develop. What strikes us about Needham Market Football Academy is the fantastic job it does supporting each and every one of its players, not just to develop as a footballer, but also helping them to discover different career opportunities through apprenticeships.”
Needham Market Football academy is located within close proximity of Crest Nicholson’s Cedar’s Park development in Stowmarket.
