Crest Nicholson’s new development of homes, Sovereign Gate, in Cheshunt, was officially launched today at an event attended by members of the Council, local dignitaries and senior team members from Crest Nicholson.
Peter Diffley, Managing Director, Crest Nicholson Eastern, commented: “There is a real need for new first-time buyer and family homes in the area. Sovereign Gate showcases the very best in current home design, marrying traditional architecture with eco-friendly features to create well-planned homes that are an asset to the local community.
“We’re passionate about helping local buyers move on to or up the property ladder and we’re continuing to do that at Sovereign Gate. Almost 60% of sales to date at Sovereign Gate have been using the government-backed Help to Buy scheme, with almost a third of purchasers so far being first-time buyers. This continues the success we had at our Aldermere where 50% of all purchasers were first-time buyers.”
Crest Nicholson always aims to build homes that meet the demand of local house-hunters and residents and, with long experience in developing in the area, including most recently in Cheshunt its successful Aldermere development, has worked hard to ensure that Sovereign Gate will benefit the surrounding community.
As a result, the development features a mix of two and three-bedroom cottages and four-bedroom houses, so it caters to all types of purchasers, including first-time buyers, professionals, families and downsizers. Plus, the homes have been designed so that the external vernacular of the properties will be in keeping with the surrounding properties in Goffs Oak.
Peter continues: “As with all of our developments, we have worked hard to ensure that Sovereign Gate integrates seamlessly with the existing community in Cheshunt. We were extremely proud to welcome so many of our partners and local dignitaries to the development today to see the fruits of our labour. There is high demand for housing in the area and the homes are proving extremely popular with a wide range of purchasers attracted by the traditionally designed properties in what is a strong commuter location.”
The development is located on the outskirts of Goff’s Oak – a particularly sought after part of Cheshunt, and, when complete will comprise two and three-bedroom cottages and four-bedroom family houses. As a sympathetic scheme set amidst beautiful open countryside, Sovereign Gate will offer an array of property types designed to complement traditional architectural styles. Drawing on the local Cheshunt vernacular, homes will feature gables, red brick and white weatherboarding, creating a sense of evolution in design and enabling the homes to integrate seamlessly into their surroundings.Prices for current availability at Sovereign Gate start from £305,000 for a two-bedroom cottage.
