The West Midlands are located in England, situated between Wales and the East Midlands. A landlocked county, the West Midlands has Warwickshire to the east, Worcestershire to the south, and Staffordshire to the north and west.
With around 5.6 million residents, the West Midlands is one of the biggest and most populated counties in Britain - second only to Greater London and just ahead of Greater Manchester.
These new homes in West Midlands have a wealth of options available to them. Major cities and towns such as Birmingham, Coventry, and Wolverhampton sit within the region; each with their unique set of entertainment, food & drink, shopping and leisure options.
Birmingham is Britain’s second largest city, and a thriving centre for the arts, culture, food and drink, entertainment and sport. In fact, Birmingham contains half of West Midlands’ population, and its attractions include the Birmingham NEC Area, the Bullring shopping centre, and Birmingham Thinktank science museum, as well as many bars and restaurants of Broad Street.
The famous Shakespearean town of Stratford-upon-Avon also lies within the county; situated only 30 minutes from Coventry. Regular bus services link Coventry to Stratford, Royal Leamington Spa and the castles of Warwick and Crest Nicholson Kenilworth, meaning that there are many places of interest to visit nearby. London is only an hour away from Coventry by train via the Virgin Trains service, and a train journey to Birmingham lasts only 20 minutes via the Cross Country, London Midlands, or Virgin Trains service.
By containing Birmingham within its borders, the West Midlands is home to one of Britain’s major transport hubs. Birmingham Airport, Spaghetti Junction, and what will later form the northern terminus for HS2, the West Midlands has a robust transport network.
