Kilnwood Vale, Sussex

In brief

  • 2,500 new homes
  • Primary school
  • Community centre and library
  • Retained Woodland
  • Office Space
  • Health Centre

Situated between Crawley and Horsham in Sussex, Kilnwood Vale is a new 132 hectare development which will provide 2,500 new homes and supporting infrastructure for a thriving new, mixed use neighbourhood.

Kilnwood Vale was successfully promoted through the planning system by CSP, and outline planning permission for 2,500 units, along with the supporting district centre and community infrastructure was secured in October 2011.

Kilnwood Vale is a working example of Crest Nicholson promoting a site through a local plan process, securing outline and detailed permissions, managing the discharging of conditions and progressing through to construction.

The site is one of a series of new significant sites that have commenced in the last few years, and is a primary example of Crest’s ability to turn technical constraints into opportunities. Our in-house technical team have been able to effectively project manage the remediation of a former landfill site and turn the site into a high quality, developable area.

Local areas of play at Kilnwood Vale

At Kilnwood Vale, Crest Nicholson has taken the lead.  Driving and controlling the agenda and market perception to raise sales values and setting a high bar for other third party developers to follow. Discrete parcels are being built out by third parties, controlled by exacting design guidelines, to optimise delivery rates and project cash flow.

Kilnwood Vale was one of the first developments to benefit from the Government’s Get Britain Building programme designed to unlock up to 16,000 new homes, protecting and creating thousands of jobs. Kilnwood Vale is testament to our commitment and capability to developing prosperous new communities, of significant size and scale, which not only create new homes, but also breathe new life and long-term opportunities to the local area

Kilnwood Vale is another example of how investment into placemaking and design quality can drive purchasers to an area. The site has region leading sales rates and due to product differentiation has multiple successful outlets for both Crest and third party developers.
