Crest Nicholson has been building new homes for 50 years and is firmly established as a leading developer with a passion for not just building homes, but creating vibrant sustainable communities. We are a FTSE 250 working on high-quality builds, incorporating bespoke designs and contemporary, sustainable ideas in our multifaceted schemes across England and Wales.
Crest Nicholson are currently looking for a Production Director to join our London region, covering sites in the City as well as some in the Home Counties. Because of future site locations, you will ideally be based within easy commute of South/South West London, although other areas will of course be considered.
We are looking for a Build focused individual, ideally with Build or Project Management background, but it is paramount that you have experience across Commercial and Technical also.
In this role you will manage and develop the Production Department, co-ordinating the core functions, ensuring the delivery of schemes is completed on time, in budget and to Crest's high quality standards.
You will be working across Build, Land, Technical and Commercial to ensure all legal policies and procedures are adhered to. As the Production Director you will have the overreaching responsibility to ensure a cost-effective, strategic and commercially sustainable approach is taken across the functions.
You will be working to further increase the communication, collaboration and accountability both within, and across functions to ensure timelines, design plan, land requirements and build plan works in symbiosis, delivering the best financial stream for Crest, without compromising on health and safety or quality.
Utilising your strong commercial knowledge and solid understanding of legal requirements and procedures, you will be involved in strategic decisions around land acquisitions, seeking and appealing planning permission, ensuring the land is fit for purpose and commercially viable.
Following the process through pre-planning, production and completion, you will oversee the design plan, its transition to build plan, and managing the team at build phase to resolve issues, prevent delays and ensure the finished product can and is being delivered in correlation with the initial design, and in line with build and business plan.
You will be reporting to the Board on costing and budgeting across the functions, explaining variances and any discrepancies are promptly highlighted and investigated. You will produce regional business forecasting, and ensuring delivery follows accordingly.
To be successful within Crest Nicholson you will be expected to constantly work to improve our build patterns, suggesting any improvements or additions which could positively impact our staff, the end product and the build process as a whole.
As this is a Director level role, we anticipate that you will have held a similar position in the past, ideally with a main house builder in the London or Home Counties area. We will need you to be technically strong, and although this is a purely managerial role, a solid understanding across the functions and their operations is essential.
In addition to the above you will have experience managing teams of significant size (100+ is likely at any one time). You will have responsibilities across sites, so multi-site (10+) is also essential. In addition you must be IT savvy, as you will be working on and reviewing documentation and plans on our internal systems (Anaplan, Agresso etc.).
This is a managerial role, but we are looking for someone whom is interested in, and has experience of the hands-on work in the individual functions. You must be a driven person whom is looking to make a positive impact, and drive for excellence and improvement across your role.
In exchange for your hard work and dedication to Crest Nicholson, we are offering a competitive salary package, as well as good benefits including car, share scheme, bonus and pension.
We seek to be an ethical and progressive employer which encourages a culture of openness, creativity and continuous professional development and which rewards the effectiveness and loyalty of our employees.
Crest Nicholson is an equal opportunities employer.
