    Crest Nicholson South West are looking for a Senior Site Manager to join their team based in Swindon.

    Duties will include:

    To be responsible (in conjunction with the Building Manager) for the speedy, accurate and cost effective technical pre-start planning of developments sites:-

    (a) By securing a detailed technical understanding of the site and the design requirements.

    (b) By assisting in liaison with statutory authorities.

    (c) By assisting in the identification and assessment of potentially suitable sub-contractors.

    (d) By checking that the sub-contractor and supply orders contain all works and materials at the outset which are likely to be required to enable the dwellings to be completed and handed over to the customer.

    To be responsible (in conjunction with the Building Manager) for the site setting out by:-

    (a) Ensuring that a critical check is made of road positions at sub-base and kerb stages in relationship to the ultimate site boundaries.

    (b) Ensuring that in respect of every dwelling, dimensions are checked to establish that houses are positioned as per the site setting out drawing.

    (c) Ensuring that the Groundworks Contractor is in possession of the correct up to date drawings.

    To manage and secure the production of dwellings within pre-determined programmes and budgets and to Company safety, quality and presentation standards:

    (a) By acting as Site Safety Officer on behalf of the Company by controlling and guiding sub-contractors, anticipating, identifying and resolving problems.

    (b) By understanding the Company Safety Policy for Health & Safety and ensuring that it is brought to the attention of all employees on site and in particular new employees. By carrying out all work in accordance with its requirements and bring to the notice of the Building Manager any improvements or additions which are felt necessary.

    (c) By acting as Site Safety Officer on behalf of the Company.

    (d) By organising the work on site so that it is carried out to the required standard with minimum risk to employees, sub-contractors and the general public.

    (e) By inspection and tight control of quality and presentation.

    (f) By operating and controlling the site strictly in accordance with the agreed Method Statement and Health and Safety Plan as required by the CDM Regulations

    To establish and maintain for the Company a good relationship and reputation in business as a whole:-

    (a) By acting in a fair, firm, polite, professional and business like manner.

    (b) By ensuring that written and verbal communication, both internally and externally is clear, accurate, relevant properly time and of good quality.

    (c) By ensuring that each property is totally completed to the prescribed standard on time for handover to the customer, fit for occupation and in a clean condition.

    In this role your primary responsibilities will be on post-occupation properties, assessing the quality and potential defects in our construction method, materials and fittings.     The successful candidate will be checking the sign off of Build Completion Certificate, identifying training needs among customer facing staff, and ensuring best practice is adhered to and any problems that are reported are dealt with quickly, with minimal impact on the customer.

  • Senior Technical Manager - CQ

    Responsibilities include:

    Manage liaison with the Land Department in the investigation and acquisition of development sites
    Ensure the most cost effective options are physically developing the land are recommended.
    Monitor site servicing

    Collating and providing feed-back to the Technical Executive in respect of technical design matters encountered during construction
    Maintaining a general awareness of current material and construction research and making recommendations or giving warnings as appropriate.
    Ensure adequate CPD is undertaken to maintain Professional Status where appropriate and to be aware of industry changes and developments.

    The role will be to assist the site manager with managing and securing the production of dwellings within pre-determined programmes and budgets, where you will be utilising your strong project management skills. Working with the site manager you will be responsible for ensuring the end-to-end build process is compliant with Company quality and all health and safety standards.

    The successful candidate will be overseeing subcontractors, working to ensure a smooth build process, working proactively to identify potential problems and finding solutions to ensure we never compromise on the build quality or safety on site.

    Key duties to include:

    Responsible for taking delivery of materials.
    Responsible for the control and organisation of the compound and storage areas, ensuring they are well organized and tidy at all times.
    Keep and maintain the inventory of materials on site.
    To ensure materials are ready when required and distributed to the correct plots on site.
    Notify Site Manager of any shortages in materials on delivery.
    Be familiar with the build program and monitor stock levels of bulk materials to ensure sufficient materials on site.
    Effective management of waste or excess materials.
    Be aware of expected deliveries for plot specific materials and chase with the supplier to ensure they are on site when required.
    Supplier relationship management.
    Call off certain materials as agreed with Site Manager.

    Key skills and requirements:

    We are currently looking for an experienced Project Manager to manage sites across East and South East London, from our mixed-use development in New Cross to our high quality, community-focused development in Walthamstow.

    The trademark Crest Nicholson schemes are highly complex in both unique designs and quality of materials and build, which requires our teams to specifically focus on the programme development stages where extra attention to detail and building relationships is key to the role. You'll be liaising with our award winning Design team, external Architects, sub contractors and construction consultancies to deliver outstanding new homes, tailored to different markets across the London region.

    The successful candidate will be involved in the end-to-end project management of our schemes from site set-up through to delivery. Reporting to the Build Manager, you will assist with the plot production forecast, budget planning and regularly reporting on the progress of the scheme. You will be responsible for managing sub-contractors, site teams and identifying training needs and skills shortages on site.

    You will also monitor site performance, ensuring full compliance with build manual and group quality standards, whilst ensuring budgets are adhered to, without compromising on health and safety.

    Crest are looking for experienced candidates whom can take a leading role, promoting best practice across the function. You will have with particular focus on improving future builds and encouraging a learning environment, utilising your experience when moving from one project to the next.

    Crest Nicholson Operations are currently looking for a Group Technical Manager to join the Group Technical & Quality Team, Reporting to the Group Technical & Quality Director.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing the technical investigation reports for all schemes proposed by the seven regional businesses of the Group at pre-acquisition and/or operational commencement stage and will:

    · Identify risks associated with ground conditions existing and proposed infrastructure and interrogate solutions proposed by the regional technical teams to include foundation solutions, remediation, enabling works, land drainage, connection to public sewers and services etc.

    · Comment on planning constraints and conditions affecting construction specification and design

    · Identify high risk design elements such as retaining structures, structures below ground and review how they are captured within the design

    The Group Technical Manager will also assist the Technical & Quality Director with the updates of specification documents, attend occasionally Design meetings, attend meetings with external design consultants, support and respond to queries from the regional technical and construction teams or external consultants.

    Qualifications:

    Preferably a Civil and/or Structural Engineering degree with good experience in Highway (S38/S278) & Drainage Design (s104/s98) and Land Quality.

    Min 10 years of experience in the construction or residential sector through Design consultancy, Building control, or Developer.

    Good knowledge of building regulations and standards.

    Excellent written and oral communication skills

    You must have the ability to work under your own initiative and be willing to travel occasionally.

    Position base is flexible within one of the regional offices
