Out and about

The Pier benefits from being at the heart of one of the best-connected regions in the south east. It is an ideal location for commuters, whether your office is in central London or further afield. Local Greenhithe station, which has recently been upgraded, offers services into London Victoria (60 to 90 minutes), Cannon Street (50 minutes), Charing Cross (50 minutes), London Bridge (45 minutes) and Waterloo East (43 minutes). By changing at Lewisham, you can connect to the DLR for Greenwich and Canary Wharf*.

Ebbsfleet International station, newly opened and of stunning futuristic design, is on the Eurostar route. The new high-speed trains that are now able to use the tracks whisk you into European cities including Paris (2 hours 5 minutes), Lille (1 hour 10 minutes) and Brussels (1 hour 41 minutes), with connections to most other cities across the continent.

Now launched, London commuters are able to take advantage of journey times to St Pancras of just 17 minutes on this same line.

Both stations are currently accessible by road, with ample parking at Ebbsfleet International, but in 2010 the North Kent Fast Track bus service will start to serve Ingress Park. The buses, which have dedicated roadways, offer convenient connections to the two stations as well as to Bluewater.

By road, you can join the M25 at junction 1a, going north to the Dartford Tunnel and M11 for Stansted (junction 27), or south towards the M20 (junction 3), M26 (junction 5) or the M23 for Gatwick (junction 7). The A2 is a direct route into south east London and is undergoing major improvements at the M25 junction and between the Cobham and Gravesend junctions.
