Crest Nicholson (South West) Ltd. is delighted to announce that Marlborough site manager, Barry McGrath, has been named ‘Quality Award’ winner in this year’s prestigious National House-Building Council’s (NHBC) ‘Pride in the Job’ competition.
Barry, who is currently site manager at Crest Nicholson’s St John’s Park development in Marlborough, has been hand-picked to receive this award from more than 13,000 contenders across the UK. To win, he was assessed across 38 aspects of site management, including technical knowledge, consistency in the build process as well as leadership and organisational skills. This is the fourth consecutive year that Barry has received a Pride in the Job award for his work with Crest Nicholson, in addition to two ‘Seal of Excellence’ Awards in 2009 and 2010.
Barry said: “I’m really pleased to receive this award; it’s great to know that large organisations like Crest Nicholson and the NHBC take the time to thank all their employees and honour the best in the industry.
“It was great to win the award for the fourth time running, which is testament to the excellent team that I work with. I look forward to achieving the same success in the next stages.”
Now in its 31st year, NHBC's ‘Pride in the Job’ is the only national competition to focus on the contribution the site manager makes in producing high quality new homes. Altogether more than 400 Quality Award winners were selected as first round winners, Barry now goes through to the next heat to try for a ‘Seal of Excellence’ Award in September, to see if he can make it three consecutive wins. The ‘Pride in the Job’ campaign reaches its climax with the announcement of the overall UK Supreme Award winners at a Gala Awards ceremony in January 2012.
Tom Dwyer, Production Director of Crest Nicholson South West, commented on the award win: “We are delighted that Barry has received this accolade from the NHBC, which is testament to the hard work and commitment he’s shown to Crest Nicholson. It’s also a symbol of the commitment and dedication that everyone at Crest Nicholson has to ensuring we build high-quality homes.
“We are sure that Barry will do very well in the next stage of the competition and we wish him the best of luck.”
