Inspiration behind a design for life
Design innovation has been the driving force behind one of the South West’s leading interior design companies.
It’s resulted in Andrew Henry Interiors working on some of the region’s most exciting new property developments and currently includes the iconic Bath Riverside.
Led by Andrew Henry himself, the 20-strong team of interior design, installation and logistic specialists have been helping Crest Nicholson keep on trend when it comes to the latest textures, colours and fabrics.
And with over 350 private sales to date, it seems the work Andrew and his team are doing for the multi award-winning development is having the desired effect as house hunters from right across the UK have been attracted to the mix of apartments, penthouses, townhouses and villas.
Key to helping buyers choose the property of their dreams have been the range of show apartments and houses which gives prospective owners an idea on how they too might decorate and furnish their new home.
Currently this includes a stunning two-bedroom show apartment in the Royal View phase.
Heightening further the appeal of living in this ground breaking new building, the brief for Andrew and his team was to design an apartment to appeal to professionals and those looking to downsize in a prime location within the Riverside development that is within easy access to the city and train station.
The result has been an interior design scheme with an eclectic style and base colour of cream with forest green and ochre accent.
It also includes a vintage chest in the hallway, a forest green sofa in the lounge and a distressed desk and shelving unit in the study.
One unique part of this apartment was the space saving flexible wall wall between the living area and the second bedroom and resulted in the team styling the second room as a spacious study area with a large buttoned back sofa that pulls out into a double bed. It means when the wall is folded away, it does not look out of place and creates even more entertaining space and is a great feature that allows owners the flexibility to create a living space that meets their personal needs,
Leading the design of this particular show apartment was senior designer Paul Garland who said: “With the rise in online sharing, new home buyers are more design-aware than ever before.
“We wanted to keep the interiors of the apartment light, open and crisp and this has worked really well with the finished scheme.
“To create an inside/outside feel, using the forest green as an accent colour allows the owner to sit in their apartment and to look out onto the park land that will be created on the development, giving a feeling they are on the outside but in the comfort of their own home.
“Botanical is a big must this season with potted succulents, leaf prints and coffee table books for those green fingered lovers.
“A key feature was therefore to use the wallpaper in the living/dining area on the horizontal, to make the wall look longer than it is and to create the illusion of space, wrapping around the curved wall into the hallway.
“The full length windows are an added benefit which floods the apartment with natural light, using voiles for privacy and light coloured curtains that blended with the walls.
“We’ve been incredibly lucky to have worked on Bath Riverside and with the Crest Nicholson team and it’s great to see the site transform into a modern place for people to live.
“It’s right on the doorstep of our Emersons Green HQ and the Crest Nicholson team are very open minded when it comes to new ideas and so it’s great from an interior design point of view.”
