What creates carbon emissions?
Your personal CO2 emissions will depend on where and how you live.
According to the following figures provided by DEFRA, human activity has changed the levels of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.
In every year:
44% created by business activity
27% from transport
29% from homes
Of the emissions created in the home:
48% from gas appliances
41% from electrical appliances
11% from other fuels
Other things in people's homes also contribute indirectly to climate change. Everything from food, computers, clothes to carpets uses energy when they’re produced and transported resulting in carbon emissions.
