Energy

Every time you watch the TV, switch on a light or turn on the heating you're creating CO2.

All Crest Nicholson homes are installed with energy efficiency lighting and as standard 'AAA' 'AA' and 'A' rated appliances, meaning all appliances are of the highest energy efficiency standard.

Energy saving tips

  • Turn off your TV and DVD when not in use rather than leaving it on or on standby. Every year TV's in the UK absorb £113million of electricity by being left on standby. By turning off your DVD player at night you could save enough energy to light your entire house for six hours.
  • Decrease your heating thermostat by 1°C and the average house could save £65 on their heating bills annually. This will reduce your CO2 emissions by 330kg a year.
  • Switch off your lights when leaving a room. Artificial lighting consumes one-fifth of the world's total electricity and generates 1.9 billion tonnes of carbon a year.
  • Avoid tumble drying clothes. When drying clothes in doors use a drying rack or hang them outside.
