Around Your Home

New homes are 4 times more energy efficient than second hand properties.

According to Government figures homes in the UK account for approximately 29% of all of the UK's greenhouse gas emissions, with the average house producing approximately six tonnes of carbon dioxide a year. That is double the carbon dioxide emissions that the average car produces in a year.

These emissions can arise from a variety of sources including poor insulation, inefficient boilers and home appliances. There are many steps that we can take to reduce the effect of our actions on the environment and one of the biggest steps is purchasing a new energy efficient home.

On average a Crest Nicholson home is four times as energy efficient as a second hand UK property. However if that's not enough, there are many more changes that we can make to the way we live that can lower our greenhouse gas emissions and more importantly could save you money.
