70% of Crest developments have cycle storage available

Transport

It's estimated that road transport makes up around 21% of total man made CO2 emissions in the UK.

Crest Nicholson is increasingly providing car clubs, cycle storage and pedestrian and cycle paths at many of our new developments. Through doing this we hope to try and reduce the dependency on cars.

CO2 Saving Tips

  • Buy fresh food that is produced locally and in season. Every tonne of strawberries flown in from the Middle East releases more than 4.5 tonnes of CO2 emissions. This is 264 times more CO2 released to produce and deliver the same product locally.
  • Consider buying a more energy efficient car such as a small diesel, diesel hybrid or petrol hybrid. This will cut carbon emissions and save you money on fuel and tax.
  • Be aware of public transport timetables and when possible travel by bus or train.
  • Consider holidays closer to home. One return flight to Australia will use as much energy required to heat and power a home for up to six years.
