Environment - Energy Rating
What is the SAP Energy rating system?
The Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP) is the Government's approved procedure for calculating the energy rating of a new home. The SAP energy rating gives you a comparable measure of your homes energy efficiency, using a scale of 1 to 120 – the higher the number the more efficient your home is.
Reducing your energy bills and looking after the environment.
The SAP rating allows you to make an informed judgement on comparing the energy efficiency of new homes. Comparison indicates which homes are cheaper to run in terms of energy consumption and more environmentally friendly in terms of energy emissions. The SAP energy rating is based on costs for space and water heating and takes into account: thermal insulation; heating system control; ventilation; solar gain; and type of fuel used.
