Following local consultation, Crest Nicholson has altered plans for the third stage of development at its Aldermere scheme on Brookfield Lane West in Cheshunt. Initial plans have been amended and the development will now provide 20 two, three and four-bedroom houses which will provide the area with much-needed family housing.
Broxbourne Council’s planning committee voted unanimously in favour of the new plans for the development. The current phase of coach houses, semi-detached and detached houses at Aldermere is nearly complete and work on the next phase of houses has now commenced.
Annette Cole, Sales & Marketing Director for Crest Nicholson Eastern, said: “We are delighted to make these changes in order to meet the local requirements. Crest Nicholson has always been, and remains, committed to building homes that serve the local area. Following consultations with the local residents and the council, it became clear that family homes are highly desired in Cheshunt. We were extremely willing to change our plans in order to ensure buyers who wish to get onto or climb the property ladder in Cheshunt are well catered for.
“To date, we have built a mix of house sizes and style at Aldermere, all of which have been successful; in fact, over 50% of the first phase of development has sold since we launched last August. Given the current property market, to have sold so many homes in such a short period of time is fantastic. We didn’t suffer the dip in property sales in recent months and years that many other parts of the country experienced, which demonstrates that there is always an appetite for the right property at the right price in the right location.”
Homes at Aldermere appeal to a mix of buyers, from first time buyers and professionals to families moving up the property ladder who want to be near good schools and older people downsizing after their family has flown the nest.
Annette continues: “Aldermere has proved particularly popular with families and many of the four-bedroom houses were snapped up extremely quickly. The site is in the catchment area for several high performing primary and secondary schools, including Flamstead End Primary School, St Paul’s Roman Catholic Primary School & Nursery, St Mary’s Church of England High School and Cheshunt High School, so this is a big draw. Parents also appreciate the safe, community atmosphere of the development and, combined with the close proximity to the countryside and Lee Valley Park, this has proved a winning combination.”
The highly sought-after development comprises a selection of two, three and four-bedroom homes. With open-plan layouts and French doors that open onto the good sized gardens, spacious light-filled rooms and crisp interiors, the homes offer high spec luxury living in an attractive setting.
Homes at Aldermere showcase a variety of different architectural styles that complement the local vernacular and ensure the development sits well within its surroundings. Each property has a blend of the best of traditional design with stylish, modern interiors, fixtures and fittings and also benefit from a range of eco-features to ensure that each home is extremely energy efficient and low maintenance.
The nearby Brookfield shopping centre provides fantastic shopping opportunities, as does Cheshunt with its range of high street and boutique shops and restaurants.
Currently available for sale at Aldermere are two-bedroom houses priced from £249,000, three-bedroom houses starting from £285,000 and four-bedroom houses starting from £349,500.
