Maintaining a sustainable business
The effects of the economic downturn have been felt particularly acutely by the housebuilding sector, necessitating a radical industry-wide response. This economic environment presents a significant challenge to the Government’s ambitions in the areas of capacity, affordable housing and the Code for Sustainable Homes.
We remain committed to our mission of being the leading developer of sustainable housing and mixed-use communities. However, with the economics of the sector fundamentally altered – and regulation an increasing burden on housebuilders – we have to take a pragmatic approach to development and we are seeking a mature dialogue with Government.
