Long-term stewardship
When consumers buy a home on a Crest Nicholson development they are joining a community, and we are committed to playing our part in ensuring that those communities are sustainable over the long term.
Managing sustainable communities
The key to the long-term success of any development is the effectiveness and affordability of the estate management structure which will sustain the built form, public realm and socio-economic support initiatives. Community facilities and services need a long-term revenue stream and management team if they are to be sustainable and of the high quality associated with Crest Nicholson’s developments.
There are several challenges to achieving this:
- the increased densities of developments combined with the diverse tenure mix and the integrated nature of the housing provision
- the technical complexity of integrated recycling and waste management systems, drainage systems, renewable energy and water efficiency solutions
- where decentralised energy services are delivered by Energy Services Companies (ESCos).
These demands require a consistent and co-ordinated management response not delivered by historic management structures.
In partnership with key stakeholders including local residents, Crest Nicholson is developing strategies for the comprehensive estate management of its new communities to ensure long-term sustainability.
