Crest Nicholson is a leading residential and mixed-use development company, operating through regional divisions in the UK. Two further specialist divisions focus on delivering our regeneration projects and long-term strategic land portfolio.

Crest Nicholson is governed by a Board of Directors. The Executive directors, who make up the Executive Workgroup are responsible for the day to day operation of the Group. The Board of Directors evaluates its own performance with regard to the economic social, and environmental performance of the company.

Reporting to the Executive Workgroup are the Project Approval, Health & Safety, Tax, Pension, Risk Review and Business Improvement groups. The Risk Review sub-group evaluates and manages operational risk, including risks relating to health & safety, sustainability & climate change, and is chaired by the Chief Executive.

Health & Safety is reviewed by the Executive, and is led operationally by the Group Health and Safety manager who reports directly to both the Executive Workgroup and Main Board. The Board Member responsible for Health & Safety is the Chief Executive who represents Health & Safety matters at meetings of the Board and at the Executive Workgroup.

The terms of reference of the operational Business Improvement Workgroups (BIW) are set by the Executive Workgroup. These terms of reference require that the sustainability agenda is integrated seamlessly across all Crest Nicholson business disciplines and that, to aid this, all BIWs should ensure that general company policies and initiatives such as Health & Safety and Sustainability (including risk mitigation and adaption measures in respect of Climate Change) are implemented and operated.

Strategy, policies, targets and KPIs are developed by the Sustainability BIW, which is chaired by the Board Member responsible for Sustainability.

The Group Sustainability Executive leads the sustainability team to support the operating BIWs in integrating Sustainability throughout the business.
