The 2008 board of Crest Nicholson comprised of eight directors who shared a common goal of developing the Group and bring a wealth of expertise and experience.
David Shearer
Chairman
David Shearer was appointed as Chairman in May 2007. An experienced corporate financier, board level strategic adviser and business manager with both UK and International experience, he held senior positions with Deloitte & Touche until 2003 where he was a senior partner and UK executive board member of the firm.
Stephen Stone
Chief Executive
Stephen Stone joined the Group in 1995 and was appointed to the Board in 1999 becoming Chief Executive on 1st November 2005. He is a Chartered Architect with over 30 years experience in the construction and house building industry. Stephen is the Board member responsible for Health & Safety.
Paul Callcutt
Executive Director
Paul Callcutt joined the Group in 1982. He was appointed to the Board in 2000 and is Group Land Director. He is a solicitor who practised in property and planning law prior to taking up a commercial role with Crest Nicholson.
Peter Darby
Financial Director
Peter Darby, a chartered accountant, was appointed to the Board in August 2003. He had previously served with the Group for 9 years in a range of finance and general management roles, rejoining the Group in 2001. He was formerly group finance director of The Berkeley Group Plc and divisional finance director of Wimpey Homes.
Chris Tinker
Regeneration Chairman
Chris Tinker, a Chartered Builder, joined Crest Estates in 1988. Through the 90's he was instrumental in the acquisition and master planning of several of the Group's major residential projects, leading to his appointment in 2002 as Managing Director of Crest Nicholson Developments. Chris joined the Group Board in 2007 and is now Regeneration Chairman and the Board member responsible for sustainability.
Bruce Anderson
Non-Executive Director
Bruce Anderson, Head of Investments Joint Ventures for the UK and Europe, joined the Board in May 2007. Prior to working for Investments Joint Ventures, which is part of the Corporate Division of HBOS plc, he was a divisional management accountant with Ferranti plc in Edinburgh between 1984 and 1990.
Jim McMahon
Non-Executive Director
Jim McMahon, a founding partner of West Coast Capital joined the Board in May 2007. He sits on a number of retail and property boards including House of Fraser, Wyevale and Booker providing strategic and financial advice to the Management Teams. He is also an ex-Senior Inspector of Taxes. He spent sixteen years with PricewaterhouseCoopers where he was Tax Partner and a member of the Supervisory Board.
Philip Davies
Non-Executive Director
Philip Davies, a Company Director, joined the board in June 2008. He has had a successful career in property first with Bovis Homes and then Ferndale Homes leaving as a PLC board member. In 1991 he formed Linden which became a listed company in 1996 and was bought by Galliford Try Plc in 2007. In 2008 he formed Nednil Developments Ltd.
