Crest Nicholson forged a partnership with the Children’s Charity Variety in 2005. During this time the Group has raised over £1 million for the charity and donated 27 sunshine coaches.
Crest Nicholson has supported Variety, the Children’s Charity since 2005. In this time the Group has raised over £1,000,000! This has gone towards supporting the work of the charity which aims to positively improve the lives of children and young people throughout the UK who are sick, disabled or disadvantaged.
Variety provides both practical help including Variety Sunshine Coaches, Variety Wheelchairs & specialist equipment through their grant programmes, as well as creating memorable childhood experiences in their Variety at Work Scheme.
Over the years Crest Nicholson employees have shown great support and determination in raising money for Variety, including; organising sponsored bike rides from London to Paris, Christmas Balls, Awards dinners and Mountain treks. Crest Nicholson suppliers, contractors and other stakeholders have also helped contribute towards this fundraising.
Much of the money that Variety raises is used to fund small projects that make a big difference. Such as providing therapeutic play equipment, new clothing, bedding or helping with house adaptations.
In December 2016 Crest Nicholson was delighted to announce that they had raised over £1 million for Variety, the mark was surpassed following Crest Nicholson Regeneration’s annual charity ball.

The generous donations they have given us have been crucial in enabling us to help improve the lives of children, and has provided the funding for additional Sunshine coaches, sensory equipment and wheelchairs.”

The children at St Thomas CE Primary School, Birmingham were delighted to receive their Sunshine Coach, allowing them to travel to football, swimming and experience activities otherwise inaccessible. Watch the video to hear what the children had to say themselves.
The Group was recognised for its long term fundraising and support to Variety over the years and was presented with the prestigious International Corporate Award.

With the money that has been raised to date by the Group, Variety, the Children’s Charity has been able to purchase 27 Sunshine Coaches for schools across the country. These instrumental coaches give disabled children access to educational and recreational trips, which without these vehicles would not be possible.
Crest Nicholson Regeneration supported a Variety Great Day out Tower Bridge, London.The tea party at Tower Hill was a morning consisting of games, shows, face painting and lunch for the children. In the region of 45 children ages 7-11 from 5 different London schools attended along with teachers and parents. Despite the poor weather it was a most enjoyable day by all that were able to come along.
Crest Eastern hosted an official cheque presentation to present Children's charity, Variety an impressive £52,525.25 that was raised through their biennial Christmas Ball and a charity golf day.Colleen Ettridge, Head of Fundraising at Variety, said: "Variety is extremely grateful to have the generous support of Crest Nicholson Eastern which is helping disabled and disadvantaged children and young people to have the opportunity to get the most out of their young lives and the skills to build brighter futures."
James King (South) and Michael Burke (CSP) took on the brave challenge of running the 2017 London Marathon to raise money for Variety.Between them they raised a fabulous £27600!
A big congratulations to Bruce McArthur (CNR) for completing the gruelling Prudential Ride London.Raising over £750 for Variety in the process!
Alexander Palmer, South Graduate, took on the beastly challenge of the Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon to raise money for Variety, the children's charity.Alex completed the challenge in a fantastic time of 1 hour 29 minutes and raised a whopping £420 for Variety, the children's charity.
The Crest South Charity Golf day was held at the Silvermere Golf Club in Cobham.On the day they were delighted to present coaches to; Rachel Madocks School, Perseid School and Alton College.
